OHIP-Funded Physiotherapy Assessments & Treatments
ACTIVE Health Management has been providing Physiotherapy Services to Retirement, Assisted-Living and Long Term Care Homes for over 20 years.  All physiotherapy assessments and treatments are covered under OHIP.  We are the most experienced and largest supplier of these services in Ontario and the only company which provides standardized assessments and treatment protocols to reduce the risk of falls and improve functional independence.

Falls Prevention Programs
Our service begins with each resident being assessed by a registered physiotherapist using standardized valid and reliable tests to measure mobility, balance, risk of falls, strength, flexibility and pain. The assessment is re-administered at regular intervals allowing the physiotherapist to establish a pro-active plan for each resident that will keep them physically fit, active, independent and safe in their environment. ACTIVE Health Management is working in conjunction with Dr. Mark Chignell, a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, who is analyzing outcomes of our Falls Prevention Program. We have statistical evidence that we really do make a difference in the lives of the residents we serve. The Falls Prevention Program is completely covered by OHIP for residents 65 years of age and older.

Occupational Therapy
ACTIVE Health Management understands the budget restraints of Long Term Care (LTC) Homes. We also recognize that each LTC Home has its own set of priorities. That is why our Occupational Therapy service begins with a free needs analysis that takes the following into consideration: the Home’s budget, programs currently in place, trends in falls and injury statistics, dependency of residents, compliance issues and human resources. The purpose of this needs analysis is to identify high priority issues, that can be addressed through Occupational Therapy.

Convalescent Care
ACTIVE Health Management can help you fill empty beds and offer your residents a quicker return to “home” following an injury or illness.  We offer residents full rehabilitation programs and allow you to market your empty beds to hospital discharge planners and third-party insurers, who are looking for solutions to decrease hospital length of stay.   

Educational Opportunities
ACTIVE Health Management offers ongoing Educational Opportunities for Physiotherapy Assistants and Restorative Care Aids, working in long term care settings.  Our training programs are taught by registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who specialize in geriatric care.  We offer training in rehabilitation techniques as well as training in establishing restorative care programs.    

Rehabilitation Staffing Solutions
ACTIVE Health Management can provide full rehabilitation services to your facility at increased efficiency and lower costs.  We will place Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants in your facility and manage this service by establishing rehabilitation and restorative care programs, ensuring individuals are properly trained to carrying out these programs and conducting on-going evaluations of the effectiveness of these programs.     

Restorative Care Consultation
Our professional Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Consultants are experts in designing restorative care programs which meet the requirements of the MOHLTC compliance and the Canadian Council of Health Service Accreditation.   Let us design, document and lead your staff in the provision of these programs.  We will evaluate these programs on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance and quality is maintained. 

Massage Therapy
ACTIVE Health Management can arrange for a Massage Therapist, with experience in geriatrics, to provide massage therapy to for your residents, at affordable rates.
