Nursing Restorative Trainer

ACTIVE Health Services is one of the largest rehabilitation companies in Canada.
 
We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist or Nurse to join our newly established eldercare training team on a part-time basis.
 
In response to the Ontario-wide implementation of RAI-MDS, ACTIVE has developed a unique education program for our Long Term Care Homes. This program assists front line nursing staff to implement nursing restorative therapies for residents to assist the Home to maximize their funding through RAI-MDS.
 
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any of: eldercare nursing, an understanding of RAI-MDS, experience teaching or conducting hands-on training. Must be willing to travel.

ACTIVE Health Management, Ontario's largest and most experienced provider of rehabilitation in Long Term Care and Retirement Homes, has a requirement for Registered Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants and Kinesiologists in small and large communities throughout Ontario.

For Physiotherapy Assistant positions, preference will be given to candidates with a PTA/OTA degree from a recognized College, or foreign-trained Physiotherapists. However candidates with comparable rehabilitation and/or recreation experience will also be considered.

These positions involve working directly with the elderly under the supervision of a Registered Physiotherapist. Therefore, all successful candidates will be required to perform a Vulnerable Persons Screen or Police Reference Check prior to starting with ACTIVE Health Management.

A well established leader in the provision of rehabilitation services to Long Term Care and Retirement Homes, ACTIVE Health Management is seeking Registered Physiotherapists to assist in the management of physiotherapy services to Homes in regions across Ontario.

The position will require meeting with new Homes, working with staff of the Home to integrate physiotherapy into their Home, conducting quality assurance and performance reviews, and assisting with the assessment of new residents. Successful candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel. Experience working in a Long Term care or Retirement Home an asset.

Essential Functions of Job
They must have a thorough knowledge of assessments, hydrotherapy, and remedial exercises, numerous massage modalities and posses a general understanding of body treatments. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests.
